Close to the American Falls is the Prospect Ponit Park Observation Tower you can climb up to have an awesome view over the Falls. The observation platform is about 282 feet high, so you better avoid looking down if you are terrified of heights. The Maid of the Mist loads at the base of the tower, but unfortunately only until October. So we were somewhat disappointed not to be able to go under the Falls by boat.
But nevertheless it's a great spot to visit. :)
