Last week I watched the training of the local medieval show group. They trained their horses to walk and lope through fire and to ignore fire-eaters performing their little feats. It was interesting to watch. The youngsters among the horses were still a bit spooky but when they watched the old stagers doing it without batting an eye suddenly they bit the bullet and did a good job at the end (not to forget that there was always a bucket full of treats waiting beyond the challenge) ;-)
