In memory of a squirrel
Neighbors brought me this poor little squirrel baby yesterday. They had found it 24 hours before laying motionless in their backyard. The little guy must have hurt itself by falling from a tree or something - we only can assume that. It was already extremely weak when it came to us. We wrapped it into soft tissues and kept it warm using a hot-water bag. We even managed to make it drink and eat some baby food. After homeopathic treatment its eyes opened wide and clear again and it started struggling and moving its long bushy tail. So we thought it were a good sign. Lucy was fascinated from the little fellow and when we allowed her to watch the baby she was completely silent and only her tail was wagging constantly. Unfortunately at the end all efforts failed and the baby died in the early morning. This was very sad, since we hoped it would recover, but I guess it has already been too late anyway. We buried it in the backyard.
