The coastal route 1 of Maine is a beautiful but also an endless and lonely drive thru sparsely populated wood and field areas. At some point the radio stations turned French indicating that the Canadian border wasn't far away anymore. Once I also got controlled by a friendly border patrol officer in his Mustang :-) who wanted to figure out if I were an illegal immigrant or something since I could not hide my accent.
