The ruinous medieval Bastei was one of our aims. Back in times it served as a fortress and harboured hundreds of people who lived there with their families. Today there is mainly the Bastei bridge left that spans a deep abyss. Julia, you may be proud of us: we went down and up (!) a path that consisted of 953 steps meandering through the forest from the top of the Bastei down to a small valley. I was too exhausted to take any picture of this torture, but we made it! :)
